Stoneware medallion mounted on salvaged Cypress blocks, with a salvaged Indonesian Teak base. Latex paint and water-based polyurethane clear coat.
I like the simplicity of this piece with the grain of the cypress complimenting the medallion design.
The cypress was salvaged from large Miccosukee style “Chickee Hut” that was torn down.
The teak base came from large, hand carved Indonesian screen that I had to cut down to make a headboard. My client said the screen was at least 150 years old.
